Alot of us may have received an email from Joyce Meyer Ministries this morning about Call2Fall. I want to share it here with those who are not on JMM's mailing list:
We need you to join us in prayer on Sunday, July 5. Let me explain...
America is in desperate need of change. But the kind of change we really need doesn't come from Washington or Wall Street, it comes from God.
This call to pray for our nation is being spearheaded by the Call2Fall movement. The vision is for Christians in America to come together on the day after Independence Day to repent of our nation's sins and ask for God's mercy.
They also encourage pastors and churches to set aside time to pray for this on July 5.
Why are we doing this? God's Word tells us that if we pray for our country, then He will bring true, lasting change that is better than anything we could do on our own.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) says: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
This scripture indicates the basis for the Call2Fall:
- We must humble ourselves in repentant prayer. In the original language, the word for "humble ourselves" literally means "to become low" and speaks of getting on our knees and faces before the Lord.
- We are to pray.
- We are to seek God's face to know what our part is now.
- We must turn from any evil ways or sin, which displeases God.
And remember, prayer is not just a one-time event. It's a way of life.
Together We Are Better,

Hm.... I didn't get that e-mail today. I wonder if they are sent out in groups or something. Maybe mine will come tomorrow. Then I can pass it on to my pastor & other friends from church.
Thanks for sharing.
Did you know?
* Of 32,000 verses in the Bible, only five directly mention homosexuality.
* The Qur'an only directly mentions homosexuality once.
* Leviticus, the book of the Bible which stipulates death for homosexuality,
requires the same punishment for adultery, pre-marital sex, disobedient children
and blasphemy. Pastor, do you preach the death penalty for adultery, pre-marital sex, and disobedient children? If not, why not?
* The Biblical Jesus does not condemn homosexuality.
* The destruction of the Biblical city of Sodom was due to their mistreatment of
strangers.
* The Bible never condemns same sex marriage.
* The Biblical David and Jonathan had a formal same-sex union.
* 'Traditional marriage' in the Bible includes polygamy.
* No known sacred text forbids same sex marriage.
* Very few sacred texts even mention homosexuality.
* Hindu and other far eastern sacred texts do not condemn homosexuality.
* Homosexuality is not unnatural, it is practised by hundreds of species of
animals.
When praying this Sunday at your Call2Fall event, perhaps we need to ask God’s forgiveness for elevating homosexual sin above adultery, divorce, pre-marital sex, and blasphemy, and hypocrisy.
